Seven killed in suspected Hutu rebel attack north of Bujumbura
The Burundian Tutsi-led army says Hutu rebels killed seven people in an attack on a village north of the capital, Bujumbura, earlier today. A local official said the attackers struck while the villagers were sleeping. The attack occurred close to the town of Mubone where several hundred people fled earlier in the week after at least fifteen suspected Hutu rebels were killed by soldiers during an attack on a military post at Maramvya.
