Hong Kong Shares Hit

In Hong Kong, the stock market suffered a further sharp fall, with the main Hang Seng index sliding below nine-thousand points before a modest revival.

Prices have fallen about fourteen percent this week, and there are signs of renewed pressure on the Hong Kong dollar.
