Korean-American journalist freed in Seoul
A Korean-American journalist who was arrested in Seoul after allegedly slandering a newspaper has been freed from jail on condition that he remain in the country to face trial. The journalist, Richard Choi, who works for a radio station in Los Angeles, reported that the Korea Times newspaper was in financial trouble and was contemplating a merger with the Hyundai group. The Korea Times filed a suit against him alleging slander, and he was detained. Mr Choi is expected to be tried next week.
