Violent student demo in Teheran

Reports from Teheran say more than two thousand students staged a violent protest on Sunday over conditions in their hostels.

Iranian police are said to have used force to break up the demonstration.

A student spokesman said the protestors smashed windows and blocked roads around the Teheran university hostel because nobody listened to their grievances.

The students also shouted slogans against the conservative opponents of President Khatami.
