Indian Supreme Court approves environmental agency for Delhi
The Indian Supreme Court has approved a government proposal to set up an environmental authority to deal with all aspects of pollution in Delhi and its surrounding areas. The authority will include noted environmentalists. A BBC correspondent in Delhi says the Indian capital is the world's fourth most polluted city with almost three million vehicles, and about thirty per cent of its population suffering from respiratory ailments.
