Algerian TV rejects foreign probe of massacres
Text of commentary by Algerian TV on 6th January
The tune of we do not know who is carrying out the killings and the tune of an international inspection commission to investigate the massacres are reappearing, after they have fallen into the criminals' diplomatic trap [sentence as heard]. Those foreign circles have to be sure that Algerians know the killers and know the capitals in which major contributions towards the strengthening of the savage hand of terrorism took place. We would like only to recall that Algeria was born out of the womb of crises and revolutions throughout history. Will those interfering in our affairs learn? The recent escalation in terrorist operations has no explanation, either now or on previous occasions, except within the security framework. Events and experience have shown that whenever Algeria approached an important political date, bloody hands moved to drown that date in pools of blood to cast a shadow over any achievement that would complete the building of the democratic state, towards which the Algerian people are aspiring. The criminals escalate their acts of savagery with the aim of the breaking media and diplomatic siege around them after they lost every link with the people and every inroad towards them - especially after the conspiracy has become clear to the people. The reality of terrorism is not new to us, nor are its destructive results. The savagery of its merchants of death is not strange us either. What is strange is that foreign circles - and we do not know whether they are suffering from amnesia or they are pretending to be suffering from amnesia - is that they are repeating a story that is outdated and rejected by facts.
