Opera's three tenors have announced details of their huge free concert at football's 1998 World Cup Finals in France in July.
Jose Carreras, Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti will mark their third consecutive at the finals with a concert for up to a million people at the foot of the Eiffel Tower.
The French authorities are determined to make their World Cup the most spectacular ever and the outdoor concert is likely to be one of the biggest of its kind.
The tenors, almost as much of a World Cup tradition as the global sponsorship deal, are teaming up again through a shared love of football.
Previous concerts, such as the one before the final in Los Angeles attracted huge audiences and have been transmitted round the globe. Recordings continue to sell in millions.
For Paris, the tenors are promising a new repertoire but say their inspiration is in the football.
Placido Domingo said: "It's a good relation - the sport and the singing, and it's football - the sport we love the most. We are lucky to be in our third World Cup together."
Jose Carreras said: "We do the concert because we want to get good tickets for the finals."
