India tells Sri Lanka its concerned by searches of Indian journalists

The Indian government has officially expressed its concern to the Sri Lankan authorities over a military raid on the home of an Indian journalist in Colombo.

A senior Indian official B.S.Pratashat the High Commission in Colombo said the two countries had good relations but it was his duty to raise the matter.

There has been no official response form the Sri Lankan government.

Sri Lankan soldiers who searched the home of the journalist, the Indian Express correspondent Nirupama Subramaniumtold her it was a random security check.

The BBC correspondent in Colombo says it's the third such incident involving Indian journalists in the past few months.
