Polish priests charged with fraudulent car imports

State radio in Poland says eighteen Roman Catholic priests are among a group of twenty-six people charged with illegally importing cars into Poland.

The radio said they imported more than forty cars into the country tax-free, by saying they were donated by charities.

It said the cars were really intended for commercial use, and as a result of the fraudulent imports, the Polish treasury had lost seventy-thousand dollars in four years
