Guard hurt in Guyana explosions

Police in Guyana are investigating the explosion of two small bombs outside the privately-owned National Television Network building in the capital, Georgetown.

A security guard was seriously hurt in one of the blasts.

No group has admitted the attack, which comes at a time of political tension in the country following the general elections three weeks ago.

Janet Jagan of the People's Progressive Party was sworn-in as president, but the opposition led by Desmond Hoyte is contesting the results, claiming the elections were fraudulent.
