US balloonist Steve Fossett told ITAR-TASS news agency shortly after arriving at the Platan hotel in Krasnodar that he was fine.
"I feel very well and hope to see my family in America
soon," he said.
"He hopes the information about his successful landing
will reach his family and relatives soon, through ITAR-TASS, so
that there is no reason for them to worry," the agency reported.
Mr Fossett had earlier landed in southern Russia,
ending to his attempt to fly around the world non-stop
in a balloon.
He came down near the village of Rogovskoye, 65
kilometres north of Krasnodar.
