India's Gujrat state government goes
In the western Indian state of Gujrat, the cabinet headed by Chief Minister, Dileep Parikh, has resigned. The move was expected after last week's decision by the Congress Party to withdraw support from the minority state government. The Election Commission says elections to the state assembly will be held alongside general election voting in the state towards the end of February. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
