Libyan leader urges reform of U.N
The Libyan leader, Muammar Gadaffi, has again called for the reform of the United Nations, saying it's used for what he described as evil purposes. In a New Year message to world leaders reported by the Libyan media Colonel Gadaffi called the U.N. one of the greatest farces in history. He criticised the veto right of the permanent members of the Security Council and said power should be transferred to the General Assembly. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
