Three-hundred arrests at Swedish neo-Nazi concert - most now released
Swedish police say they've released most of the three-hundred-and-fourteen people they detained after rioting broke out at a neo-Nazi rock concert in the town of Brottby north of Stockholm late on Saturday night. The police said about twenty-five people were still in custody for resisting arrest and inciting racial hatred. The trouble started when officers at the concert tried to detain about twenty fans who were shouting racist slogans and giving the Hitler salute. The officers were attacked by other neo-Nazis with fire extinguishers and bottles. Those arrested included Americans, Germans and Norwegians, as well as Swedes. A police spokesman said the operation, which involved more than one-hundred-and-twenty officers, followed a government instruction to get tough on racially-motivated crime.
