Iran condemns Algerian massacre

Iran has condemned the massacre in Algeria.

The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman said it was an odious crime and called on the Muslim world not to remain indifferent in the face of violence in Algeria.

He added that killings and torture in Algeria should be condemned, no matter who or what organisation was responsible.

Algerian authorities have previously accused Iran of supporting militant Islamic groups in Algeria, whom they blame for the massacres.

Algeria broke relations with Teheran over the issue in 1993.
