More fighting in Sierra Leone

The army in Sierra Leone says it's repelled an attack on the southern city of Bo by militia backing the ousted civilian president, Ahmed Tejan Kabbah.

A military spokesman confirmed that there had been heavy fighting around Bo at the weekend; he said ten militiamen had died at Bo and twenty-five others were killed after troops pursued them southwards.

There's no independent confirmation of the casualty figures.

Correspondents say it's the biggest offensive by the militia known as Kamajors since the coup by junior army officers last May.
