Ruling party leads opposition in Kenyan parliamentary polls

The ruling Kenya African National Union party has edged ahead of the combined opposition parties after more results were declared in the country's parliamentary elections, Kenyan KTN TV reported on Saturday.

Kanu now has 101 seats against the opposition's 98 seats.

Twenty-five seats are still to be declared.

The current state of the parties is as follows: Kanu 101 Democratic Party 35 National Development Party 21 Ford-Kenya 19 Social Democratic Party 14 Ford-People 3 Safina 3 Shirikisho 1 Ford-Asili 1 Kenya Social Congress 1
