The federal authorities in Mexico say they have discovered a quantity of weapons which may have been used in the massacre of 45 Indian peasants nearly two weeks ago.
Officials say the guns and ammunition were found near the home of one of the men who has been arrested in connection with the killings, which took place in the southern state of Chiapas.
Many of those killed were supporters of the Zapatista rebels, who began an uprising against the Mexican government four years ago.
Opposition and human rights groups have blamed paramilitaries linked to the ruling party -- but the government denies any involvement.
On Thursday, Mexican troops said they uncovered an arms cache belonging to the rebels.
