More than 850 hurt in New Year fireworks accidents in Italy

Over 850 people were injured in firework accidents during New Year celebrations in Italy, Italian RAI teletext reported on Thursday.

It said that 103 people were hurt in the Naples region alone, including a two-year-old girl who was hit by a banger.

The fireworks also caused a large number of fires, but no deaths were reported.
