Three hurt in Moscow underground blast

Three people were injured when a explosive device found at a station of Moscow's underground rail system exploded on Thursday, Russian news agency Interfax reported.

Officials said a driver inspecting a train came across a small bag and took it to the staff room at the Tretyakovskaya station, where it exploded about 10 minutes later.

The injured are railway staff, and their condition is not considered to be critical.

The authorities reported that 12 people, including six children, were injured by fire-works during New Year celebrations overnight, the agency added.
