Germans say 'NO' to Lolita

Campaigners against child abuse in Germany are trying to prevent the release today of a new Hollywood film based on Vladimir Nabokov's novel, Lolita.

The story centres on the sexual obsession of a man with his twelve-year-oldstep-daughter.

The pressure group, Kim Initiative, is leading the protests as cinemas prepare for the first screening.

The group takes its name from a ten-year old German girl who was raped and murdered a year ago by a convicted sex offender.

Lolita has caused an outcry in the United States, and has already been banned in Belgium -- a country shocked by a sex-abuse scandal last year.
