Ebola ruled out in Kenya mystery disease

The World Health Organisation, which is investigating the cause of an unidentified disease that has killed more than two-hundred and fifty people in Kenya, says Ebola and yellow fever are not to blame for the deaths.

An official at the WHO, David Heymann, said laboratory tests analysed in Kenya and South Africa had ruled out Ebola and yellow fever, but could not determine a single cause for the epidemic in north-eastern Kenya.

Earlier in the week, the WHO mentioned Anthrax as a suspected cause of the disease which has also killed thousands of animals, including cattle, camels, goats and sheep.
