Israeli secret police forced to disclose interrogation methods
The Israeli security service, Shin Bet, has been forced to disclose details of the way it treated a Palestinian detainee, as part of a court hearing into allegations of torture. In a report on its interrogation methods demanded by the court, Shin Bet admitted depriving the prisoner of sleep, covering his head with a sack and forcing him to listen to extremely loud music with his hands tied behind his back. The case was brought at the urging of the lawyer for the man, Fuad Koran, who was detained three weeks ago : he's been questioned about his brother-in-law Adel Awaddalah who the authorities allege was responsible for bomb attacks in Israel.
