Jewish woman convicted over pig poster

WAS MUSLIMS RAMADAN An Israeli court has convicted a Jewish woman of putting up posters insulting the Prophet Mohammad -- an action which provoked riots in Hebron and outrage across the Muslim world.

The posters depicted a pig, which is considered unclean in Islam.

The woman, a young Russian immigrant Tatiana Suszkin was found guilty of committing a racist act and harming religious sensitivities.

The BBC Jerusalem correspondent says the woman, who faces a maximum sentence of twenty-six years. was tearful but unrepentant.

A sentencing hearing is due to be held tomorrow
