Fire breaks out on Russian cruiser, no casualties
A fire broke out on a Russian Pacific fleet flagship on Tuesday without causing casualties, the Russian news agency Interfax reported. Pacific Fleet First Deputy Commander Admiral Valeriy Chirkov said the fire broke out while welding work was being carried out in the engineroom of the missile cruiser `Varyag'. He said all missile hardware was removed from the cruiser before the repair. Fourteen fire engines and ten fire brigades were involved in extinguishing the fire, the agency said.
