96 year old author makes debut

A British woman has had her first book published at the age of ninety-six, making her one of the oldest debut authors in the world.

Margie Jenkins' book Fun At Bedtime For Little People is a collection of children's fairy tales and poems which she has been inventing for her own extended family through her long lifetime.

Mrs Jenkins says she believes a reaction has started against the depiction of violence in modern children's stories. An American writer who published her first book at the age of ninety-seven is believed to hold the age record as a new author.
