Egyptian-Sudanese relations improve
Sudanese radio says President Omar al-Bashir has received a senior Egyptian official and been given a message from his Egyptian counterpart, HosniMubarak. Mr Bashir was said to have told the official Umar Sulayman that Sudan would make every effort to restore ties and work together with Egypt in the interests of both countries. The meeting is the latest sign of improvement in relations between Sudan and Egypt, which have been strained since Mr Bashir took power in a military coup eight years ago and deteriorated further when Egypt accused Sudan of involvement in an attempt to assassinate Mr Mubarak.
