Getty gets UK citizenship

British officials say the American billionaire philanthropist, J Paul Getty-the-Second, has been granted British citizenship, twenty-five years after setting up residence in the country.

Home Office sources in London are quoted as saying that Mr Getty - who's the heir to what was once the world's biggest private oil fortune - received his British passport the week before Christmas and immediately revoked his United States citizenship.

The son of John Paul Getty, once the world's richest man, he owns a personal fortune estimated at nearly two-billion dollars.
