Israeli jets attack targets in southern Lebanon
Israeli military planes have attacked suspected strongholds of the Hezbollah guerrilla movement in southern Lebanon. Lebaneses security sources said two planes fired missiles at Hezbollah positions in the Iqlim at-Touffah hills, just north of the area of southern Lebanon that Israel occupies. Hizbollah said in a statement that it had no presence in the area hit by the missiles, but it said its fighters in nearby areas had fired on the planes. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
