Villagers killed in new Algeria attack

Newspapers in Algeria have reported that twenty-one villagers have been killed in a further attack apparently carried out by Islamist extremists.

It took place in Ouled Moussa, near Medea, about eighty kilometres south of the capital, Algiers.

Reports said the dead belonged to three families, and included seven children.

After the attack, which reportedly took place on Friday, the assailants set fire to the victims' homes.

More than one-hundred people have been killed in a series of attacks in Algeria since last Tuesday.

Newspapers also report that security forces killed seven Islamist militants on Saturday.
