Good news for caviar lovers
Iranian fishermen have caught a giant sturgeon in the Caspian Sea. The head of fisheries in the province of Mazandaran Ali Fakhreddin said the sturgeon was three metres, 70 centimetres long and weighed 520 kilogrammes. He said almost 60 kilogrammes of caviar was extracted from the sturgeon - which was netted off the port of Bandar Turkman. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
