Three Arabs charged over Bosnian car bomb
The authorities in Bosnia-Hercegovina have charged three Arabs over a car bombing in the city of Mostar in September, which seriously injured more than 20 people. Speaking on Croatian Television, the Interior Minister of the Muslim-Croat Federation Mehmed Zilic said two of the suspects were already under arrest and the third was on the run. The car bombing -- one of the worst incidents in Bosnia since the war -- happened outside a station of the multi-ethnic federal police in the Croat-held west of Mostar. Correspondents say Bosnian officials believe the bomb was intended to worsen ethnic tension in Mostar, which remains divided between Muslims and Croats. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
