Secessionist Anjouan establishes web-site
Secessionists on the Indian Ocean island of Anjouan have taken to the information superhighway, the Internet, in their campaign for international recognition as an independent nation. They have set up a site on the worldwide web with information on the history of their island, details of their self-declared President and laws. The island declared independence from the rest of the Comoros in July but their move has not been recognised internationally. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
