Three Awami League supporters shot dead

Gunmen in Bangladesh have shot dead three supporters of the governing Awami League.

The three, who were members of the party's student wing, the Chatra League, were crossing the southeastern city of Chittagong on a motorcycle, when the gunmen opened fire.

The Chatra League has blamed the killings on the Chatra Shibir -- the student section of its Islamic rival, the Jamaat-i Islami.

The Chatra Shibi has denied the allegations.
