Leicester beat Saracens 22-21

Leicester have beaten the Saracens 22-21 after coming back from being three points down at half-time.

After a 15-minute delay in starting the match due to crowd congestion, Leicester showed the league leaders they can still cause trouble when they want to.

A drop goal by Joel Stransky in the final seconds clinched the game for Leicester in front of a Saracens home crowd.

Fly-half Michael Lynagh began the scoring with a drop goal for the Saracens seven minutes into the game.

A minute later, his opposite number pulled level with another drop goal but Lynagh again scored from 30 metres leaving the half-time score 9-6.

The game struggled on marked by fierce competition but little in the way of flowing play or long runs until the 54th minute.

Then Stransky sold a dummy to the Saracens defence giving Fritz Van Heerden for his first try for the Tigers.

Ryan Constable made a comeback for the Saracens, making a solo run from his own half to make a corner try.

Lynagh converted to equal the scores but five minutes later when Brenadan Daniel made a try he failed to get the ball between the posts.

Stransky seized the opportunity and snatched the game back for Leicester, making a penalty with four minutes to go and converting a drop goal with only seconds left on the clock.
