N Korean spy jailed
A North Korean man who operated as a spy for twelve years in the guise of a Filipino academic has been jailed by a court in South Korea. The man, Chung Su-il, who is ethnically Chinese, posed as a Filipino from Lebanon, marrying a South Korean woman and teaching history at a university. The High Court in Seoul jailed him for twelve years for gathering intelligence to assist the enemy. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
