New Zealand in women's cricket final

New Zealand have beaten England to qualify for the Women's Cricket World Cup final.

World Cup holders England were beaten by 20 runs in India. They had an over taken away from them as a penalty for slow bowling.

Chasing New Zealand's 176 target, England were bowled out for 155 in 47.5 overs. New Zealand will now meet Australia in the final.

New Zealand took control as England struggled to pile on the runs that would have kept them in the match.

The Kiwis hit 57 runs off their last ten overs to set England a stiff target in the semi-final in Madras.

England fielded superbly early on, with Kathy Leng brilliantly catching Debbie Hockley at square-leg moments after running out Shelley Fruin.

Hockley, the world's leading run-scorer, hit just 43 off 104 balls, but the arrival of all-rounder Katrina Withers in the 35th over prompted New Zealand's revival.

Despite New's Zealand's success in knocking out the holders Australia will be favourites to win the competition at the Eden Gardens ground.
