Yemeni convicted of raping a boy executed
Reports from Yemen say a man convicted of kidnapping and raping a boy has been publicly executed. The man was shot dead by a firing squad in a public square in Zamar, south of the Yemeni capital, Sanaa. He was sentenced to death in October, and his three accomplices received prison terms. But after armed tribesmen kidnapped four Russians and demanded stiffer penalties for the accomplices, the local court sentenced all the four men to death. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
