Russia to sign a contract on a nuclear plant contsruction in China

The Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Boris Nemtsov, has said he is leaving for Beijing on Sunday to sign a contract to build a nuclear power station in north-east China.

Mr Nemtsov told reporters in Moscow that he and the Russian Atomic Energy Minister would sign the contract to build the plant near the city of Lianyungang in the province of Jiangsu north of Shanghai.

The Russians say the contract is worth at least three-billion dollars.

Moscow announced its plans to build the station last January.
