Former rebel arrested in Colombia
The Colombian authorities say they have captured a former rebel leader in connection with the kidnapping and killing of a government minister five years ago. The Colombian secret police said they have arrested Nicodemus Luna Mosquera, who they say is a former member of the left-wing rebel group, the People's Liberation Army. He is suspected of planning and carrying out the kidnap and murder of the former Minister of Public Works, Argelino Duran Quinteros, in 1992. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
