Plane misses runway in Holland

Police in the Netherlands say several passengers were slightly hurt when an airliner with nearly two-hundred-and-fifty people on board left the runway while landing at Schipol airport.

The passengers used emergency chutes to escape from the plane, a Boeing 757 belonging to Transavia Airlines.

A fire which broke out after the landing was quickly extinguished.

The cause of the accident is not known.
