Now, it's the new souped-up VW Beetle

The German motor company Volkswagen has announced it's bringing out a new, souped-up version of its famous Beetle car.

First introduced in 1938, the Beetle is the most popular car ever built, having sold more than twenty-one million vehicles.

Production stopped in Europe almost twenty years ago, but the model is still being built in Mexico for the Latin American market.

The new Volkswagen Beetle will make its debut at the Detroit motor show next month; there will be a petrol model, and a turbo diesel, priced at fifteen-to-eighteen thousand dollars.
