More Peruvian prisoners are pardoned
The Peruvian government is reported to have pardoned fifty-one prisoners which it admits have been wrongly convicted of terrorism and treason. The report said the move was made as a Christmas Eve gesture of goodwill. The latest releases brings the number of prisoners freed to three-hundred-and-sixty. The special committee involved in considering pardons headed by the Justice minister, Alfredo Quispe Correa has about eight hundred more cases to consider.
