Indian government to investigate air force pay
The Indian Defence Ministry has announced it is setting up a high-level committee to examine the grievances of ground crews working for the Indian Air Force. The announcement came after a series of wage protests at air bases around the country, some of them violent. The ground crews are reportedly angry that their pay has been frozen, while pilots have been awarded large increases. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
