Chinese workers evaluate their bosses

China's official media have praised the results of a nationwide review undertaken by workers in state enterprises in which they assessed their managers' abilities.

According to the China Daily newspaper, the workers evaluated six-hundred-thousand managers, as a result of which more than eleven thousand were demoted or dismissed.

But there were also bosses who rated highly with their employees; thirty-six-thousand were rewarded or promoted for their efforts.

The review was conducted over a twelve-month period by what are known as workers' congresses in nearly eighty-thousand state-owned businesses throughout China.
