UN aids Nepal in improving child health
The United Nations has granted more than fifty million dollars to Nepal for child health programmes. The Nepalese authorities said that under an agreement with the UN Children's Fund, UNICEF, the aid will be used to improve child health and education over the next four years. Nepal has one of the highest infant mortality rates in the world and one of the lowest rates of school enrolment. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
