Alfonsin critical of former US ambassadors

The former president of Argentina, Raul Alfonsin, has criticised two former ambassadors from the United States for becoming paid lobbyists for multinational companies bidding to buy privatized Argentinian companies.

Mr Alfonsin said the two former diplomats, who have been hired by companies competing for the country's main airports, were acting without shame.

His comments follow protests by opposition parties against the way the privatization of airports -- including Argentina's main international airport -- is being carried out.
