Four die in Senegal attack
Four people have been killed in the Senegalese province of Casamance in an attack blamed on separatist rebels. Armed men suspected of belonging to the Movement of Democratic Forces of Casamance ambushed a number of taxis on a road linking Dakar with the provincial capital, Ziguinchor. Four other people died in a similar incident last weekend. The mayor of Ziguinchor ordered a ban on night-time traffic. The MFDC accuses the government in Dakar of neglecting the province, cut off from the rest of the country by Gambia. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
