Mexican military admit kidnapping

The military authorities in Mexico have admitted that several soldiers were involved in the kidnapping and torture of at least ten young men, and the killing of another one.

His mutilated body was found five days after heavily armed men wearing masks raided several houses in a poor suburb of the city of Guadalajara, seizing several youths.

Some of the men released later said they had been tortured.

Correspondents say the kidnapping was in retaliation for an alleged attack against a soldier carried out by a gang of youths.
