Ethiopia slams Somali peace agreement
There has been criticism in Ethiopia of this week's agreement to end civil war in Somalia. Ethiopian media quoted senior diplomats as saying that the deal failed to include all Somali factions. This was a reference to two faction leaders who walked out of the talks. The Ethiopian reports said an agreement that excluded particular clans would foment further divisions. Correspondents say that Addis Ababa has been conducting its own peace initiative among Somalia's faction leaders. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
